Abstract

It is nothing new that students struggle in math, especially with algebra. Arithmetic skills are needed for algebra skills. Algebra is like arithmetic, in how one can apply the same methods to a number as a polynomial. Vedic arithmetic, which includes negative digits, can be utilized to make the arithmetic calculations easier as well as illustrate operations with polynomials. The extended form of synthetic division can be used with both polynomials and numbers.
