Heather Roberts RN, MSN
Heather Roberts holds a Masters degree in Management in Leadership of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science of Nursing. I am a doctoral candidate obtaining an EdD focused on Leadership and Learning, specializing in Organizational Systems. The focus of my dissertation is on the faculty perceptions on their role they play on student retention in an online platform, which is based off a replicated study in a community college setting. I have a diverse background in nursing from Long-term care management, Hospital based leadership roles, to disaster preparedness. I have experience in developing projects with the use of my Black Belt in Six Sigma, and Project Management education. A lot of my focus is on creating professional development opportunities for faculty through peer-to-peer interaction through programs like Nuts and Bolts Lunch and Learn, of opportunities for faculty to engage with students to showcase their assets for their departments in events called IceBreakers: Virtual Mixers. I use a lot of technology pieces to create and promote our events, or message through formal and informal channels. I also have created a document and video Library to categorize and house our materials through the use of Microsoft products. My latest professional development opportunity was being voted onto the board of a Non-profit charter as an Archivist and onto the board of the IABS journal as a vice chair.
